Be smart, people! It's not worth risking your freedom for a stolen TV. It's not worth risking your account for a duped in-game item, no matter how sparkly they are!
Hi

Sorry to take away your time, but I feel like I have to comment on this.

1. Many armbrace's was dumped to the marked.
2. There is people who did that duping for a long time - slow but secure.
3. There is chines gold farmers and other scam wiht thousands of accounts.

You are saying that you can't move 1g without you knowing about the issue? How come sale of gold for real money goes like never before? You do nothing about it, you do nothing about guildwars fan sites who has ad's from randyrun.com and other gold trader?... And yet you say - this is a issue we are fighting. If you can't ban those who got 2,000k transfered - how can you be even near of being abel to track 1g?

I can't possible imagine that you have record of each 1g movement or anything for that matter that goes beyond 2-3 month. If you system was so insane good as you say it is - why would we need to report anything at all? If it was true you had stopped gold sale, armbrace duplicates and bots for that matter. Yet they are there and actions Anet take is to scare away people - and is not aim to solve the issue it self. Just a PR trick.

When it comes to armbrace's dumped into the marked. Okey you banned guys with with 100 of those. I have been playing GW for 27 month and collected around 400-500 ecto in that time. Maybe I am bad player who can't farm, but I think its not that bad. With average price of armbrace of 100k+50ecto that means that 7+ armbraces will give more gold then anyone could possibly make legit way! So even 7 armbrace's is a problem, not 100.

And when it comes to people as you say who have trade 1-2 armbrace's. To face the fact its "possible" to buy a CD-Key ingame for about 100k or something like that. Armbrace is 350-400k - thats 4 accounts. People could create 4-5 accounts, store 2-3 armbrace on each without even touching their main account.

You make it sounds like banning of account is a big deal. For players like me who spend 2,500 hours in game - it's more of a big deal, its devastating. But for people who practice in-game-gold sale and are familiar with how ban's works - it just a cost they calculate into the armbrace's they are getting. And I know that many players do have several accounts from the time when storage space was limited.

What Anet did, specially they way it was done - in hidden forums, update's without notice's and nothing on the main page... For me it looks like the only intention Anet has is to scare people who did find this to be a problem, keep it hidden from general public in hope that posts about a few ban's will make illusion of a real solution.

I see nothing on guildwars.com or players.guildwars.com. Has guildwarsguru become official "bounding" connection Anet -> User's? Why dont you use your own websites? You even have 3. This smells like a bad cover up attempt. That fails.

PS: I have been playing GW for a long time now, since day 1. Do I want to play it now? No.

But, even when it didn't involve arm braces (on these characters/accounts), they had something that triggered the watchdogs of the database curators. Trust me, trust no one except yourself, and be even wary of that as your ideas/perceptions are so easily adapted to fit the nice "truth". I don't judge you or your guildies, Anet did, and they found a few of you to be most likely involved in activities that breach the EULA.
Maybe because the main people in our guild have been friends for a long time and some know each other in real life. If any of us had 1750 armbraces, we would not make ourselves look like that fool Chunky.

One of the people that was banned was standing in our guild hall afk and then she logged off and the next morning- banned. She didn't even know of the armbrace duping fiasco and thought it was a mistake because she got the account 2nd hand.

Oh yeah, sorry forgot to mention, we are all taking the necessary steps with the Support ticket.

We know how many were banned, and we know why they were banned, and we're not exactly being quiet about this and trying to tamp down the discussion. In fact, if you think we're trying to avoid the topic, I'm more than happy to increase the volume of the discussion: If you break the UA, if you take advantage of an exploit, if you do something that damages the game, you will suffer serious consequences.

Can it be any clearer?

Let me know and I'll try to make it so.
Gaile don't let yourself get worked up about this.

You are doing a good job, the only thing really important is to have a system in place where the really innocent have a chance to tell their story and have it checked out.

As i was explaining to ppl in-game every ban can still be considered temporary because the accounts have not yet been deleted and it can be reversed.

On a final note, i am amazed about the greed in this game, i am standing in Ascalon-1-int right now and ppl have been rushing in since yesterday trying to buy cheap ambraces or sell their high end stuff.

SHAME OU YOU ALL

It's times like this that one wishes that it were possible and easy for companies to publicly post "you were banned for having 2000 armbraces of truth" in reply to the people who protest innocence.

That what he/she told. You know the full facts? Maybe she helped transferring goods from mr chuncky here? I'm not aware of all that has been done, but neither are you, how do you know that your mate was not involved before? The duping has been going on sometime. I'll just stress again: Don't trust anyone except yourself, and FACTS. I feel with you, and it is not nice to loose the possibility to play with people you like. If it is really unjust they will be unbanned, I believe so. But if databases show that people helped duping or moved stuff around obviously generated by duping you know they are rightfully banned. You and I have no insight into activities and therefore its best not to conclude and take position in it. The other people of the guild are clean, and thats good.

We are on vent ALL THE TIME (we are even as I am typing this) so we are alwayyyys talking. We saw her standing in the guild hall up until the time she logged out. And if you are really that mistrusting to every single friend you know then I feel bad for you.

Well there is nothing I can truly to say to prove anyone's innocence on these boards and I intend to stop trying (didn't want to in the first place tbh). We are taking everything through the proper channel so this is just pointless anyway. It is all up to what anet chooses to do and we hope it works out fairly. (And sorry for all this spam, but gotta' stick up for your friends =p)

Kamadan is for 5k inscribable trades. Asc ID1 has been a high-end trade area for a long time.

I'm just hoping my best friend doesn't face the same fate cause I gave him Guild Wars as a present last Friday....

And this will surely become bad publicity for them if they keep the innocents banned, you can be sure of that.
Why did you re-post this? Some questionable information has already been pointed out. Namely, why are you and your cousin on the same IP?

I know everyones all worked up about this whole Duping deal, and Bans of the innocent people, the same thing has happend in D2 and WoW, where innocents have got caught in the way of the thoughts of the GM's. So I guess it all must come down to this...

-Ban those who Defiled the Eula.
-Delete Duped Items Somehow (Item ID Codes etc like D2's RustStorm)
-Have Innocence get a chance to prove they have done nothing wrong by giving exact time and date when they were kicked off/banned and have Anet check into it.
-And last but not least, Blame George Bush for WW3.

Thats what I think should be done at this point in time.

My point is simple - they havent fixed anything. And I am not talking about removing the exploit it self I am sure we have moved above that level of discussion. What Anet does is to make an illusion of them knowing who did what and that they can track even 1g - well imho its bs. What they do is a PR trick. Just look into facts.

I'm usually on TS with my guild. However, I don't tell them everything I do. I commonly will buy an item, then use it later when more people from the guild are on to boast.

Perhaps they did just that; got 250+ Ambraces, and then planned to boast about it later.

eep, don't ban people with over 200 ecto, that includes me :O

Anyway, very nice work from Anet, the mass bannings is an excellent way to remove the scum that ruined Armbraces. I hope that they also continue to ban people who are BUYING the Armbraces.

(Sorry my last little tidbit) Basically with our group of friends, if you are at your computer, you are on our vent. It's more of a habit now then anything. So when the ignorant *bleep* that called our entire guild "dupers" everyone knew about it and had to step in to say something. Except Rayne, she wasn't on vent, she came out of no where lol.

Well regardless of your opinion, it seems according to what players have posted, people who bought duped items are getting banned.

Oh and as for facts, you provided little to no facts at all pertaining to your argument then.
